Yuma, Florida Panther, was born in the wilds of Southwest Florida. Found by a Florida Ranger on a cold January day in 2014, the tiny kitten was abandoned and near death. Yuma was cared for until he was old enough to be transferred to Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Joyce visits the park often to sketch and photograph him and his antics. Back in her studio, the paintings develop from the sketches and photos. For more about Yuma and the other wildlife residing at the park, visit Homosassa Wildlife Park.
